Science

Science, also known as Science Magazine, is the peer-reviewed academic journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science [AAAS 2] (AAAS) and one of the top academic journals of the world.  It was first published in 1880, is currently broadcast weekly, and has approximately 130,000 subscribers. As institutional subscriptions and online access serve a wider audience, its readership is estimated at 570,400 people.

The primary purpose of the journal is to publish important original scientific research and research journals, but Science also publishes scientific news, opinions on science policy, and other topics of interest to scientists and others. people concerned with the broad implications of science and technology. Unlike most scientific journals, which focus on a specific field, Science and its rival Nature cover all scientific disciplines. According to the Journal Citation Reports, Science's impact factor for 2019 was 41,845.

Although this is the journal of AAAS, membership in AAAS is not required to publish in Science. Articles from authors around the world are accepted. The competition to publish in Science is very intense, as an article published in such a highly cited journal can attract attention and advance the careers of authors. Less than 7% of submitted articles are accepted for publication.

Science is based in Washington, D.C., United States, with a second office in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
