The steps to access an author's publications and calculate the h-index value from:

1- Connect to the Scopus database: http://www.scopus.com

2- Select the 'AutorSearch' tab,

3- Enter the name of the author and his first name or first letter followed by a point,

4- To limit and facilitate the search, you tick the author's search domains,

5- You see all the publications bearing his name,

6- Check 'Select All' and then click on 'Show documents'

7- After selecting 'Select All', select the 'Citation Tracker' command,

8- Finally, you will see the number of citations for each publication per year and the h-index value

The Publish or Perish database (Internet)

1- Go to http://www.harzing.com/resources/pop

2- Go to Windows version,

3- Click on 'H Publish or Perish install for Windows' (367),

4- Click on this link. You can download and run or directly run the software. Once installed, you can already view it.

5- Select the 'author impact analysis' tab,

6- Enter the name of the author and his first name or the first letter of the author followed by a point,

7- To limit and facilitate the search, you tick the search domains of the author,

8- Select 'Lookup' you will see all the publications bearing its name,

9- Finally, you will be able to display the number of quotations of each publication per year and the value of the h-index.
